I saw this movie today. It's based on a book of the same name by Jhumpa Lahiri. It stars Kal Penn and Irfan Khan. The thing about this movie is... it's so true to life. The way things played out is genuine. And you don't see that in a lot of movies nowadays (that try to emulate it, at least).
I'd recommend it to anyone. However, I think you're all better off renting or watching it when it's on TV. If you're looking for a story full of ups and downs that starts up a bit slow (just like Little Miss Sunshine), you'll appreciate The Namesake.
