I own one as well~

It's super rad especially with anything with a simple MIDI learn like Ableton or Torq.

Definitley worth the grab

They are quite a bit bigger than the original UC-16 in this old picture, UC-16 is the same size as the original X-Session UC-17.

you can map any nob, fader, or button to any midi controllable function in ableton. it is not a mixer. the nobs or "gains" as you refer to them can be assigned to any command. it is a very versatile midi controller.

Have it. Love it. End of story.

They're pretty nice. I've seen a few people do Live PA with them, so I almost bought one, but I ended up with an MPD-24 instead.
