IF YOU PLAN ON SMOKING GREEN OR TAKING ANY CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:
I don't want to be a Debbie Downer but I would like to offer a little word of advice to our non-Californians/first time festival go'ers: Coachella is infested with undercover officers. Indio P.D. will have 85% of it's officers at Coachella along with a good portion of the California Highway Patrol (California State Police) and many officers from surrounding departments. The eye in the sky will be watching. The police officers do not need a warrant to search you because you gave up all your rights when you entered the festival. If they see you smoking weed they will arrest you, if they see you selling something they will arrest you. Remember, this is the festival where Andy Dick was arrested for smoking weed (not selling or even furnishing it):rolleyes: . There will be undercover officers in the parking lot and in the camping lot so please be careful and under no circumstances are you to trust a stranger!!!!!
I know this seems like common sense but I don't want to see a thread about how a TA was arrested on a felony and now their entire life is ruined. California may have a very liberal stance on marijuana but at Coachella they have a zero tolerance policy. It is almost like they get off on busting people for smoking a little weed and enjoying the festival just a bit more.
I have been to the festival and I have seen many arrests. They will get you for something as small as having a joint in your mouth.
BE CAREFUL!!! BE DISCRETE!!! TRUST ONLY PEOPLE YOU PERSONALLY KNOW!!!
P.S. If you want a real sesh you should meet up over at Willie Nelson's tour bus ;) |

So, the moral of the story on the hashish is - drive out of the parking lot and go somewhere vacant to sesh, right? Oh this is so going to disappoint one of my friends attending.....:p |

As long as you play it cool and keep it discrete you should be fine. Act as you would act on a public street at home. Do you blaze out in public in front of strangers at home? Do you buy from just any random person that approaches you at home? Do you sell to any random person on the street? Just use your head and enjoy!!! |

You are not going to want to leave once you park. The parking lot attendants are cool for the most parts. That being said there is NARCO walking around everywhere.
Just like at every other concert you have been to, just be careful. Don't go around flaunting it, and you will be fine. |

I think I've been to maybe two concerts in the last 3-4 years and over 150+ nights out at the club. :) Clubbing vs. concert going is very different at least when it comes to this sort of thing. I'm not a blazer - just a techno hippie. ;)
But this is good to know - some of my friends attending are hardcore smokers and this is really going to wrench it for them.....maybe we'll make pot brownies or cookies instead. |
