One report says Mars Bar is closed.
I smell a very ed up, pretty unfunny April Fool's joke considering some peeps are driving 40-60 minutes to get there, it was this late, and gas prices are so high, the bridge tolls, etc.
Sorry, but it's not funny if it is indeed a joke!
Now my question is: Was Alain duped or a part of this? :p

I am one for cruel april fool's joke (trust me :p), but when it comes to the expense of people's time, money, (Bay area priced) gas, etc....it's just too far, IMO. |

I wouldn't make up something like this or play around. I barely participate in Christmas let alone some random day like April Fool's.
Just over a span of 30 minutes I got 7 text messages from industry people all over the city. I was just passing the message along, I didn't mean for it cause any disappoinments in anyones night.
Did anyone else check other venues? It could have been a stupid prank, but considering the sources and situation in relation to him being on the West Coast over the weekend. It seemed pretty realistic.
But perhaps once word broke out someone offered a better venue for him to play at? *shrug*
Same thing happend when Richie Hawtin did a same day announcement gig here, there were severel different venues announced until it ended up being at some small warehouse. (which btw is still one of the best parties to ever go down in SF history)
Again wasn't trying to mislead anyone just thought some of you would like to know, in case you didn't get the same message. |
