i did not like this movie at all. in my opinion, it tried too hard and ended up being somewhat cheesey/cliche in parts. i dunno. |
the only good thing was the cinematography. It was duller as a butter knife and had about the same impact on me emotionally. |

the book was hella boring. it had some very neat things that were adapted to the film such as the proliferation of pets as the new "children" and other stuff. But the author serially needs to write better. |

| The movie was okay, nothing to go out and rave about for days on end. The cinematography was excellent in the movie. |

| This movie rocked. Even if you didnt like the story, you gotta respect the camera work. There were lots of long action sequences done in a single take with a handheld camera. And they all look amazing. Definitely one of my favs of last year. |

I can agree. From a cinematography standpoint, it was really well made. I enjoyed the loooong shots. Visually it was well done as well. Good battle sequences. Regardless, this movie did nothing for me. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't great either. |

:/
the car chase and the war scene were at least 4 shots each spliced with computer masking tricks.
also, subtle but nice implementation of:

into the movie. you can see this shot in the trailer where Owen is visiting is cousin
as if i don't ride this movie's dick enough

Instead, a special camera rig invented by Doggicam Systems was employed, allowing Cuarón to develop the scene as one extended take.[6] [14][52] A vehicle was modified to enable seats to tilt and lower actors out of the way of the camera, and the windshield was designed to tilt out of the way to allow camera movement in and out through the front windscreen. A crew of four, including the DP and camera operator, rode on the roof. |
