New M.I.K.E. -Changes R Good (pg. 3)

surely not my favorite M.I.K.E. release. The maintro mix was ok the first time I heard it (although not really my style), but I got bored of it pretty quickly. I still like that Tranco remix, heard that one just recently. Haven't heard that other mix.

I'm expecting more or less the same stuff for his upcoming album, something like that maintro mix ... not much trancy stuff in each case. So I'm hoping he'll put out some really great trance releases under other aliases e.g. Galore, Absolute ...

maintro mix is pretty good, but overall this is surprisingly average. i usually love m.i.k.e. but can't really get too pumped over this. oh, and i am i the only one who DOESN'T like his 'absolute' alias? i don't think i like any of those releases lol, can't find what's so special about them... could just be personal opinion though... :toothless

just listened to all the mixes. wackzoz

After all it's a small non growing community who does not wanna move on, i don't think m.i.k.e. is going down, he's a rocketeer, his music sounds more mature and he's aiming another movement besides trance all the time i guess..
A small number of TAers might not like changes r good, but it currently holds the number 2 spot at the buzz chart, 3 at audiojelly, 22 at beatport, 4 star rated in dj mag, plays by g&d,blank and jones, andy moor ect.. says enough to me :D

not really... but then again, i don't base tracks on how high they rank on audiojelly & beatport and how much andy moor and gabriel & dresden play them... but if you do, good for you then... :toothless

If I didn't know any better I'd call you a **********

It seems like the taste of the average tranceaddict has evolved far beyond Mike's current productions. I hope he'll eventually keep up. It's never too late. Oh, and btw, Mike isn't a rocketeer anymore since 2003.

It's more a case of Mike falling back rather than moving on. Changing directions does not necessarily mean evolving or progressing as an artist. As I said before, he used to have a much better sense of sound and track structure than he seems to have now, there's hardly anything interesting to be found in this new release (I'm talking about the Main Mix now). I invite you to compare one of the Push remixes from 2001/2002 to Changes 'r Good. You can't look past the difference in terms of sound quality.

I'm all up for new sounds, but it feels as though Mike is trying too hard to be different at the moment.

(Note: all of the above concerns his trance aliases, somehow he does manage to produce decent material under the Galore guise, Kriss Rider etc.)

I know, let me guess, average age 20 and under?
That's why :haha:
Case closed, back to the music now,

If this musical direction continues, M.i.k.e. is officialy dead for me; and believe me I used to be a HUGE fan/supporter.

Well said. I don't like this track at all. Normally Mike has higher standards.

Ah another track by MIKE, never heard about that

I looked this one up and prefer this above most things he has produced lately :)

Uhm, most TA's are in their twenties so I don't see how this makes any sense :conf:

Lol... stick with your 'cool and developing sound' then.
Note that most producers try to learn from fair criticism; unfortunately some delusional artists can't cope with it :)
This may be 'just a trance forum' but it's probably the only place all over the internet that knows this track and wants to discuss it.

And one more thing: It's funny you put this in your first post...

but surely the elite board members will dig this one

...and none of them really like it.
Good luck in the future :o

edit: and use the search next time; there was a thread about this already

Equally well received :gsmile:
Surely the Audiojelly chart must be more representative! Fedde Le Grand was up there too a while ago.
