I'm gonna start looking.
Question though, for those who live in the Los Angeles area.
I can always buy the songs online, but I'd love to have the copy of the cd. What are some records stores that carry Sasha? Sometimes FYE doesn't have any electronica. |
Virgin Megastore in Hollywood has a rather large selection of dance music. Dance music used to actually have it's own floor but they recently just blended it in with everything else. |

And you'd be absolutely correct. No one could touch him. He would set trends that were being jumped upon literally a decade later (hello Markus ing Schulz.) These days though he simply follows them, and it's quite a sad thing to witness given his past. |
You're a bandwagon thumperjumper for saying this, look at his tracklists, if there are more than 3 tracks in there that EVERY OTHER DJ is whoring, please post the proof.
I suspect you're too busy trolling other forums to do this though. |

| Just becasuse DJs aren't playing the exact songs as Sasha doesn't mean they aren't playing a similar style :p |

That's what I asked thought he responded with:

So I'm assuming he meant the tracks......unless I'm misunderstanding something? |

Well as usual I get late to the fun threads...
I understand Mikey's comment as to how Sasha used to set the trend back in the days, he practically owned everything and everyone with his sets/music taste... However, electronic music as it is has progressed a lot, specially since 1998-1999, in terms of numbers, more music and new tracks released, more and more djs, which wasn't exactly the best for the scene in terms of quality, but such is life.
Having said this, I really don't think there is nothing new to be discovered about edm in general, so I kind of understand people like Sasha because they have to play something at the end of the night, and chances are he will end up playing a similar style that some other dj very known as well is probably spinning.
I'm probably wrong, who knows, but I've always wondered about this as well, and this is just a general question, is there something fresh and newer out there that we all are still missing, in terms of electronic music?
edit: uploading 2005 southfest set, tomorrow will post it. |
