Hello,
I am in the market for a new mixer, and I came across the Alesis Multimix 8USB:
It interests me because I would also be able to use it for production. The only problem is that I cant determine whether or not it would work for djing. This is because I dont see a way to listen to both tracks through the headphones before they are played through the speakers. I am using 2 cd decks as my djing devices.
Anyone know if this would be possible? I read through the manual and it seems like only Aux input A can be used for pre fader listening, while Aux input B is for post fader. Would that mean that this mixer would be unusable for mixing?
Im kind of hoping that maybe there is a way to create a jungle of wires to get it done. I guess I could hook up a switch to AUX A and flick it everytime I want to listen to the other device, but then I would have to probably split the signal and run it through the Line in As well in order to make it work properly and avoid clicking sounds and what not? (maybe not, just thinking out loud here). Anyone have any experience with hooking a setup like this up?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also Is there any other similar products that offer this capability in the same price-range (150USD)?
