battery 2 sucking up all my CPU

so i have a p4 1.3 ghZ 600 mB RAM running cubase sx3, and battery 2 is sucking up 20-25% of my CPU causing my work in progress to clip very badly. i have 4 instances of impOSCar running simultaneously and they take up minimal CPU. i only have 5 samples loaded into battery so far, and i don't really want to convert them to audio tracks yet because i'm not nearly ready to do so because i still have more percs to add.
i know my processor is somewhat dated, but i really don't have the cash to upgrade right now, and my production is at a standstill.
i've deleted all non-essential programs from my computer, and when i load up the current track i'm working on, the CPU load is at 70% and goes up to 75% when i play the track. when i take battery 2 out of the track the CPU load drops to 45-50% which is still somewhat high, but i can still work w/it...
any suggestions? :conf: |

make sure you have the latest patch installed also, as there were some issues with excessive cpu usage on the first rev..... |

This is normal. You need 2G of ram and 3 of Cpu to run without worrying about it. I know some people who need 6/8 gigs of ram |

okay, battery 2 defaults to 16 mono and 8 stereo outs. i disabled all the mono outs and this reduced the CPU usage 10-15% so this fixed my problem and the production train is now moving once again. |
