It's not because you have a natural predisposition to french that Greg or other people do too. :P

Lots of CDs out there that promise to teach you while you drive, or while you pee, or while you screw your gf, etc.

Not sure if they work, but getting yourself mixed up with a group that can't speak English (and doesn't want to learn it either) is the best. Getting a French gf won't work, cause she'll need YOU to "listen" to her, admit "that you're wrong", and say her butt looks really small. If you can't do that in a language she fully understands, you're ed.

Yeah, go join some hippies or LARPers on Mont-Royal, you'll fit right in. :haha:

A lot of the people I've been partying with are french and tend to speak french all the time, and the only thing thats limiting me from jumping right in there is SOME base in french. I want some courses that will teach me basic speaking french so i can converse with the spanish background i know ill be able to run with it, but the difference in accents is limiting me, i cant see in words what people in french say. I dont understand the pronunciation.

As silly as it sounds, this is really the best way. Courses, self-learn CDs and books are only good at teaching you the very basic fundamentals of a language. You'll never learn to speak french from them. The only way is to immerse yourself into it. Listen to french music (even if you hate it), watch TV in french, watch movies in french, and most importantly, talk to people. It's a language that's strongly tied to it's culture, far more so than english. So no ammount of courses will teach you the language if you don't understand the culture behind it. Feel free to message me on msn if you have any questions :p

May the force be with you ;)
