For example turnmills in london is getting Marco Baily , J00f and Sander this week and then the next week hybrid. Any one of these would be a big event outside of europe yet in the uk u get a bunch in one night. Do djs charge less in the uk or do the clubs just make that much more?

that's just how they roll in the UK :D

Its even more so the case in Los Angeles.

I think it's actually quite the opposite tbh - people need to put that many acts on to have any chance of filling the night. Profit margins are tighter and tigher here because people need to spend £10k on their lineup and can only get so much on the door.

Even the smaller events charge about £12-15 a ticket - I don't know exactly how that compares to other places around the world, but I've got the impression from what people have said that it's quite a lot for an average 1000-odd capacity club night.

bear in mind that turnmills is classed as one of the best clubs in the world for this type of music. they have lasted because they pull out all the stops and earn less profit per night, but know they have a continuous following.

london is something every UK citizen should be proud of. and generally it seams like dj's love to fly there to play sets in clubs like turnmills.

I'd love to have that problem in NYC. The closest thing we've had to that this year is Markus Schulz and Sander van Doorn in February. I think next month we'll have hawtin and tenaglia on the same bill, but these events are rare in NY.
