if you play out or plan on playing out in clubs indoor parties the 800's would be a good investment, otherwise just go for the 200's for bedroom dj'ing. their beast of machines

I agree with Spawn 100% and I cannot stress enough, the differences between the 800 mk2s and the 1000 mk3s, in my mind, do not justify the price difference. It's some serious chunk of change you can save with the 800s and get pretty much all the features.

+1 haha

I just might have to come over for a practice session sometime next fall, Andrew, and try before I buy :D
...seeing as you're now rocking the 4 decks :D

P.S. are you going to use all 4 at your party tonight? i'll try to make it there, need some release after all these f-ing prelims and projects :eyespop:

+1. .02 is almost overkill/unneccessary. the only thing i like about the 1000mk3 is the pretty waveform display and the ability to play mp3. still not worth the extra cash though.

CDJ mk2 can also play mp3.

the 0.02% is a nice feature imo, and well yes there is a difference. With 0.05 you sometimes will have to correct, and with 0.02 you can nail the beatmatch for a very very long time ...

i somewhat got a cdj800mk2 recently...about a month or so ago...and honestly...its a beauty. i love it. it was a toss up between two cdj200s, or one cdj800. i wanted the .02 pitch on the 200s, but i didnt like the platter. what honestly sold me on the 800 was the platter...just because i liked the feel for it and had a feeling that i would end up upgrading to an 800 at some point. i simply love it though. i dont even use most of the features, but its perfect. you can't beat it. you dont need all the bells and whistles, they're nice, but not necessary.

btw...spawnmaster...make sure you have the updated firmware

Nice review. This pretty much has sold me on picking up a pair.

i actually had the latest version of the firmware when they arrived...even though Pioneer sent me a free firmware update CD lol.

By the way I got a chance to play around with a pair of 1000mk3's today and can't stress enough how I would never buy the mk3's over the 800mk2's unless they had a severe price drop. the 800's and 1000's are just so much alike. The wave form is pointless if you know what you're doing, hot cues on the 1000 are a definite advantage but the 800mk2's have quick return which is ing amazing...these are the essential differnces which i dont think merits the purchase of the 1000's but thats of course my opinion :)

so true...i wouldnt mind paying an extra couple hundred more for an 800mk2, if there was no 1000...and the mk2 had all the same bells and whistles as the 1000. :toothless
