The music made me happy, the TA's made me happy, talking to Talla (when I could pull him away from Wai) made me happy. Victor is the sweetest thing since sliced bread.

Most importantly, props to Marcello and Mike for putting this together. i don't know if it ended up being what you wanted it to be, you both seemed busy/preoccupied so I'm not sure where you're at with it, but this silly fool had a blast. I'll be at the next one for sure.

Muah.

Was a great party, I didn't get to catch much of anyone's set cuz I was running around doing my own thing and making sure things are getting taken care of for the party @ T wit M.I.K.E. Some of the staff were real jerks but over all the whole night was a banger with Vic banging it out @ the end and Talla's ending part of the set a masterpiece. Props to Marcello and Mike for putting this together def was a banger. Hope to see all of you @ M.I.K.E. in two weeks. Until then cheers everyone. :)

got there 1/2 hour wait even with tickets. staff at door didnt know what the event was or how to scan my ticket form. got in and got out of the way of a fight and watched as the carried bodies out. the room could have it been smaller? i was expecting a beautiful night of trance and got a tiny room with a crowd of thugs and aholes laughing at the trance folks. waiting in a line of a unisex bathroom. was this central park? please, please change the venue for future events or make sure the whole club is just for trance. heres an idea a new venue all togethere such as roseland right across the street. trance is an event not a second rate rave stuck in a small room. the music not bad, but tough to enjoy when u are ducking bodies. just my thoughts. im pissed off sorry. i listen to trance because it makes me happy and it was tough to be in a good mood last night.

Ok, so first of all I've got to get this off of my shoulders. Me and 3 friends get in line around 11, and end up having to wait 40 minutes. I don't see why it took that long, but I'm willing to forgive as long as the party was fun. But just as we got to the head of the line, the bouncer yelled 'No Timbs!', and proceeded to turn away anyone at the door wearing Timberland shoes. Whatever, I wasn't wearing 'Timbs'... But I was considerably alarmed by the fact that these bouncers cared what you looked like (not an EDM club thing to do... at least not now in NY). So I get in along with one friend of mine, and then the other two are stopped, the head bouncer pointing at one of them and saying, "I don't like how you look", and saying that there was no way to let these guys in, even if they went home and changed. I then told Eco and a few people on the inside to see what they could do about it, and apparently nothing could be done for my two friends, who went home angry and degraded as a result of some douchebag who decided that he 'didn't like how someone looked'.

That aside (also some of the other weird drama that I went through that night... it seems that every one of my friends had some kind of problem that night), the party was pretty good. I got on part-way into Funabashi's set, just as it was heating up. Dropped some crazy rocky tracks toward the end of his set, and right as Talla2xlc came on, the club went wild. He started his set with some of the most aggressive, driving beats that I've heard out of a trance DJ. Of course, Talla dropped 'Shine' and later Vic. Dinaire played Eco's new track. I was dissapointed by the short, 2-hour length of the set. When Vic. Dinaire got on afterward, he played some more driving beats, a lot of trance, but didn't stay on nearly as long as I had hoped. The party ended around 4:15AM... I don't think I've ever left a club party that early in my life. As I was waiting for my friend to get her coat, I almost got hit by some guy who was being thrown to the ground by some other guy after he spazzed out. It was a pretty ridiculous way to end the night, a huge fight breaking out. Oh, and also, the bouncers were screaming (literally screaming) 'Move, move, get out of here!' as loudly and rudely as they could just as the music stopped.

Overall: The music was great, but my fun was certainly disturbed by the bull that took place in line. I enjoyed the night, but the bouncers were just something else.

marcello - thanks for the night and as you said, always happens with the door aint you can do about it unless you sitting at the ticket counter yourself. hrm where do i start? music was great but the beginning was slow, not the music selection but rather the volume at which it was being played at...very low, so low conversations were easy to be had. i think the venue is nice but the crowd it attracts is kinda not my thing, too much jail bait running around, not to say any of it was looking bad, just that i kinda felt bad lookin then asking myself, how old are these girls....especially the pair of girls that were pretty much sucking eachothers face off...

music was great - venue was small and intimate - crowd was too young - door was a mess - overall impression was good for a first nighter at a new venue.

good luck guys and hope everyone got as drunk as i did.

ps - those drink specials i dunno what was going on all i know is that everyone was saying no drink specials but then all of a sudden the bartender was giving us free shots of kettle one...thats when my friend jeff puked on the bar.

the bathrooms get a a+ from me

good to meet james/jerz and the usual suspects

we never made it in. The line didn't move at all in like 30 minutes. And the crowd seemed very young. one girl ahead of us seriously looked like she could have been bff with my 12 year old sister haha.

sounds like Talla killed it though as we knew he would. Congrats on the opening night guys. hopefully next time we can actually get in! ha

Alright, most of you hit the major points, so I'll try to add anything interesting / different from here:

1) Getting there: I got there 10:15 or so, due to some technical difficulties or what not, nobody was getting in before 11. 45 minutes outside = ehh. But, like others, I was willing to forgive if the party was good. So after getting through the disorganization that was the bouncers / tickets, and quickly getting one of those stupid little tickets from someone who was misinformed about the $20 reduced, since crazy little bouncer man (who dissed my haircut, bastard) didn't give me any, got into the place.

2) The place: I'm a fan of small rooms, I'll admit. So that worked fine for me. I'm also a fan of having seating without paying for a table, so that's good too. So, aside from even crazier drink inflation than usual ($6 for a poland spring?), I had no problem with the first floor. The second floor seemed a bit odd, it was nice to have the mezzanine thing, but the hiphop party upstairs definitely clashed with the trance party downstairs.

3) People and people being kicked out of the place: I somehow managed not to witness anyone throwing down punches, so I'll not comment on that. Only other people I saw being thrown out were hooking up, and I guess that's understandable (from the bouncer's end) too. Aside from that, you could clearly, like tayama said, tell between those there for the trance and those just not. that said, who were the two beautiful ladies (matching outfits, black top and jeans)? please pm me :)

4) The Music: Funabashi ripped it. Loved that set. Period. Talla, I didn't quite get into the beginning of his set as much as I did later into it. Dinaire, played some of my favorite tracks of the moment but aside from that for some reason I still felt the other two sets were stronger.

All in all, not a bad night.

Misc: nobody here wears earplugs, eh? I always thought it was a decent idea, but I had some of them damn thugs pointing and laughing. Ah well, to hell with them.

Edit: re: young crowd. probably some of the stupidity people saw could be written off to that, although (and this is really the beginning of another thread i'm articulating in my head now), it allows one who's into trance to get both sides of the club coin, the 'meat market' and the nice beats. of course, that is assuming one is near the age of the jail bait, hoping their 18+ ID is legit :P

despite some drama, uninformed staff and other randomness i had GREAT time. marcello & mike did a good job organizing and fixing issues really quickly so i thank them for that. great music and great seeing everyone.

I AM SO PISSED , missed the party cause of my stupid drunk friend , we all got taking in by the cops cause he sparked up a J on da train like a idiot cops walked in and there was no J but the whole car was in weed smoke lolz , he ended up getting into a crazy fight screaming it was him smoking not us and by the time me and my 3 other friends got off and he went to bookings everyones ones vodka high went away and no one wanted to go any more  the most retarted friday night in my life . Sorry ecO ill be @ the next party !
Dj_MadirozE
that remix of madagascar that vic dropped was insane other than that the ing equipment bleww ballz no read out on one of the pioneers>?? come on.... the sound tech was a cool dude but as im spinnin hes unpluggin the cdj pluggin in the older version, so that went on for a 20 minutes i was pretty disappointed for my first club gig but hey it happens . Marcello mad props for this event k tyas and big mike nice talking to u dudes any body posting pics??

zizack
props to Mike and Eco for putting this one on. I was really excited to hear trance in a new venue last night. We got there around 11:20 or so and waited on line til about 11:50 without having moved an inch before we took off. idk what the deal was with the line, but something was up. We made it through a much longer line at Pacha last week for Howells quicker than last night, which doesn't make sense.

that being said, I would like to make it inside one of these nights lol, so i'll definitely give T-NY another chance...probably for the MIKE night.

oh, and yeah, the crowd on line seemed very young, although I could just be getting old :p
yankeeBaby
ridiculous night both bad and good.

You know you are in trouble when the bartender asks you why this music was playing. I def think that TNY needs to have a staff meeting or two. Including respecting their guests. that gets a big WTF of the night. SO rude to my friends who were visiting.

A bouncer told me "You are hot, you can go in. But I need to see what you are wearing under your coat." Meantime I had nice pants and nice shoes on so I dont know why they even asked me to take it off when it effin cold out. I was pissed, and gave them and earful but they wouldn't let me in unles I proved my "dress code standards"..... and when they saw that I had cleavage was like "Damn you can definately get in for free." :whip: Then I get in for free on the same list as my friends who had to pay varaying amounts ($25, $15 and $10??? WTF!!!!) :whip: They had no reason for the different prices (we had the same cards given) when I cussed them out they, let ONE of them in for free!! Marcello did a great job of fixin the bar ... he was working really hard to make the party great, adn I can def respect that! I think besides the RETARDED STAFF who have IQ's of ABSOLUTE zero, the party was a great success.

Talla!! that is all I have to say to make the party turn to the positive side!! All of the DJ's played fantastic sets (no compalints at ALL musically), but I came for talla and talla I got! He of course played shine, and even tho I was sober pulled a tranced-out move with hands in the air. :) :) I had to even laugh at myself for that one! LOFL! :haha: I might have shed a tear but the sound was a little ty and I couldnt hear the piano part at all, which is was makes me lose it LOL....everyone was asking where my tears were!! sorry to dissapoint!

BTW: apparently I am tallas official tour guide of nyc when he comes back. lol Very nice guy to talk to!

moral of the story: tell the staff you are throwing a party before hand(LOL), dont bring absinth to a pregame if you wanna keep your friends for the whole night (double LOL), and trance still owns, even in nyc :)

Nice job marcello and mike!
