American security contractors in Iraq: A lawless group

Read this story when you have some time.
There is another side to the war that you rarely hear about - apparently there are American security guards who are also fighting, in addition to the regular soldiers. However, this second group is lawless because it's unclear what rules apply to them, as the incident described here shows. |

| I think they should be prosecuted under Iraqi law, then maybe like this wouldn't happen. |

this is old news, but its a disgrace it hasn't been remedied.
anyone seen bush asked a question by a student regarding this in 2004 (i think)? he had no ing idea :rolleyes:
from my understanding they are actually immune from iraqi law. i did a bunch of research on it a while ago, and nobody in the know seemed to have a satisfactory answer. so very wrong. |

| The clear and simple answer to this problem is to make them accountable to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The are working in a war zone as combatants and should be judged by the same laws as other soldiers. |
