Commuting to work today was fine from Queens to Long Island. No flooding at all on my route.
Trying to get out to Mamaroneck yesterday was ridiculous. The whole way there I was going through huge floods and hydroplaning everywhere...finally get there, the exit I need to get out at is closed so I get out on the next one and attempt to drive back. The cops have everything closed off due to extreme flooding both to the left and to the right of Mamaroneck avenue so I couldn't go anywhere. Even SUV's had theyre tires completely immersed in water. Roadside assistance people told me you arent going to make it through and if you do you probably wont make it back so just turn around and go home so I did. When I got back to Queens it completely stopped raining. |

My car is leaking. I bailed out 3" of water on the passenger side 3x's now, despite trying my hardest to cover it with a tarp.
