TOKYO - The mayor of the Japanese city of Nagasaki was shot to death in a brazen attack Tuesday by an organized crime chief apparently enraged that the city refused to compensate him after his car was damaged at a public works construction site, police said.
The shooting was rare in a country where handguns are strictly banned and only five politicians are known to have been killed since World War II.
Mayor Iccho Ito, 61, was shot twice in the back at point-blank range outside a train station Tuesday evening, Nagasaki police official Rumi Tsujimoto said.

Shooting in Japan???? You kidding me ... you know how rare that is? Well, its a shame, but I have great respect for Japan, their political, economic and social stability. Sucks that this had to happen. I hope they have strict laws on gun violence there. Japs dont need guns it seems, as has been illustrated since the end of World War II. |

Well...
Looks like someone was disrespecting the local Yakuza.
Scary ******s... I got on a train once from Nagasaki to Tokyo and about 50 of em boarded... the people all bowed and when they passed, and they had scars and tattoos and looked like a sino-italo gang stereotype. lol
good times
They will basically "sacrifice" one of their own in order to equalize certain transactions... that is to say, the guy who killed the mayor would do it for the clan, and get caught and say nothing, do his time, etc. etc.
Very interesting culture. |

That sounds frickin' scary! What if you're 'gaijin' and don't bow? |
