this is a new tune ive been working on. the vocals are from my mates band (kharma 45) who are about to become the biggest band of 2007!
im sort of new to producing so anyone advice or which direction this tune should go would be well appreciated.

criticism welcomed!

i like this.

nice atmospheres and the vocals are quite nice.

this really wont be a big hit though. the vocals are catchy but lack that 'sparkle' that big hits have. production sounds dated due to the bassline. but i do like the vibe it gives.

though the mix is ok. you need to really get it rocking for this style of track.

i would suggest giving up on this making it as a big hit. i doubt even ferry corsten could turn this into a chart success. just try a more relaxed approach as far as thread introductions go because i see this causing a flame war here at TA..

keep it up tho:)

i know what you mean mate! but i still believe the vocals are enough to make this a big track. i know that i couldnt make it into a big track cos im too inexperienced but i think you will hear the vocals in a track at some stage! cheers for the advice!

ok listening...

well i gotta say you've got yourself something good here. at first listen and i can't tell exactly the strings and vocal sounded a bit off.

now trust me i know time stretching vocals is probably the hardest and most tedious part of this entire production but when he hit a new phrase i heard the strings a bit behind. only in the beginning, the rest sounded good. check with your metronome

bassline surprisingly lasted all 8 minutes with me. i didn't get tired of it and fit well under the vocal.

pads/strings/arps really took the tune from a dance record to an artist album version. not a bad thing if thats what you're going for, i do see some commercial appeal here

regarding the prodcution. the percs are clean enough an dry enough that there isn't much to critique. bass sits over the kick fine although you should maximize this to see if thats still the case

if this vocal is available i'd love to take a swing at this, really great sound and projection this guys has

overall, WELL DONE!
