how do u create percussion loops?

its like a non-stop circle of hi-hat.
it sounds like TSHH TSHH TSHH... looping on
its not just 1 perc placed in an offbeat position is it??

they give a lot of energy out as it has the effect of a neverending circled loop every beat.

they are in loads of trance tunes. such as..

kamaya painters - wasteland
the classic green martian productions (industry, harmonic minor)

very harsh and bold sounding
how would u do this?
rubez
thanks i will try this out.

btw what is the difference between open and closed? is it like, say if in real life u hit a cymbal with a drumstick and if u grabbed it afterwards to stop the echo. closed would be if u grabbed it, open would be if u let it echo out?
rubez
wasnt sure. so it is

an actual hihat you can close down with your foot. when you hit it then it's a short sound ts. When you release your foot the space between the 2 hihat cymbals increases, causing them to resonate against each other when hit, as tsschch.

Drum machines were originally meant to emulate actual drum kits, hence the names we still use.

if u have 'Kenneth Thomas feat. Colleen Riley - Ghost In The Machine (Abbott & Chambers Remix)' it starts at 2:34 - the loop that starts after a rip of bass. if u dont have it, download it, its a hot tune

audio jelly. make sure its 'Kenneth Thomas feat. Colleen Riley - Ghost In The Machine (Abbott & Chambers Remix)'

Abbott & Chambers own alter ego records its their remix. best played loud and bassful, the best remix it has a great mix of elements they meld well unlike the mike shiver mix where the kick is too loud the abbott & chambers mix is very organic. play from beginning to end fully - great flow

what is 'ride'
tommybedlam
A ride is a cymbal that generally goes on each kick beat, its quite quiet although obviously still audible
