I've become dissatisfied with ebay. It's still a good place to sell stuff that locally you could never find buyers for. But buying things on ebay generally has left me wanting. A few of my biggest gripes:
1. most of the new apparel items are cheap knock offs from china. doesnt seem to matter even if it says 100% authentic or if they have good feedback. seems that buyers don't care its a knock off because they just want to be seen wearing a designer label.
2. bidding idiots over pay on anything that is remotely in demand. I've seen used items go for as much as it would go for new. if you go to all the time and trouble of the biding process you should be getting a deal otherwise whats the point?
3. the excitement of bidding gets old when you want the dam item and someone comes in and out bids you at the last second after you waited a week expecting you would win. i use buy it now to avoid this bull. when i want something i want it now.
4. the amount of fees extracted from you to sell something are really getting hefty. After ebay takes their cut for listing, then for selling, then for the paypal transaction, there isn't much left over. |

i use it very rarely, but i've found some sweet things and good deals on there. i think the last thing i bought on eBay was the translucent-blue Blue Fear vinyl i had framed for Rob's birthday last year, since it wasn't available anywhere else at the time.
oh, and i never have the patience to bid... always Buy It Now. |

Sometimes when I get really drunk I bid on dvd's that are $.01
It's all fun and games until I sober up and realize the shipping and handling is like $10.00 and I've never heard of the movie.

Ebay is aite on its own. Paypal is aite on its own. However, Paypal s the out of Ebay customers who get conned. It's usually a 50/50 chance that the legitimate person in a transaction will get ed instead of the conman.
but i did enjoy getting my extremely polished used copies of Xenogears + Vagrant Story for $5 each. |

ebay rocks!
for example - i bought this

for £100
I only want it for the engine and gearbox which is going into this

I've stripped the car down

and everything that is in working order have resold on ebay and made myself so far £500 profit which means i got my engine and gearbox for nothing and have some money to do a strip and rebuild of the engine |
