yea that's pretty much obnoxious. he'd be a lot cooler if he just didn't say and let all of his possesions speak for themselves.
if someone has a sick house/condo, a nice ride, and all the cool toys, then obviously they're doing something right. but yea, constantly bringing it up to people just makes you look desperate for acceptance or whatever.
i mean it's one thing for you to be excited about a new plasma and u call ur best buddies and say, "movie night at my place! just got a sick plasma". but this guy just sounds pathetic.
you should patronize him. that's what i do with people like that. next time he's bragging, be like, “wow, it must be really cool to be you. i mean, look at you. look at all your stuff and your money. damn, how do you do it? you must be fighting the women off with a bat huh?”

| i think people that hinge their confidence solely on their possessions are sad. who the hell decided that personality and prosperity correlates to the amount in your bank account? the term 'rich' should not equal the monetary value of a person, but instead should be judged by their character. i despise people that hold a piece of ing paper higher than morals, manners, and common courtesy. and those types of people are certainly poorer than those that have less money. |

well if i had to make a generalized comment...i would rather marry someone middle class (unless they gained their wealth ON THEIR OWN, but most of the time it's inherited). i'm sorry but people that have had to struggle are a lot more grounded than snobby trust fund kids. and men that struggle = have their feet on the ground = HOT.
i almost got into a fight the other night with one of my best friends. her dad is a prominent lawyer and her mom is a stay @ home mom. she goes to my university as an out of state student (and pays FULL tuition [$40,000/yr] without any financial aid...which is why she was admitted in the first place since her high school grades were so-so). she's awesome and i love her, but we come from two COMPLETELY different ends of the spectrum. she was complaining about the fact that she had $.17 in her bank account...i have something pretty close to that in my own. the difference is that her dad puts 'allowance' in once a week (she even tells him it's for beer money :wtf: ). and if she overdraws, NO PROBLEM...he'll fix it. um...if i did that my parents would tell me tough luck and fix it myself (they have).
the difference between us is that her "broke" and my BROKE are not the same...i guess it's just our own respective standards of living. but i'd rather work a hell of a lot harder, even though it's hard sometimes, there's no way a rich kid has the same ing principles and work ethic as a hardworking person. |

so i have a chance! yes! lol j/k....i totally agree. rich kids dont have any understanding of what its like to be truly broke. they have no understanding of the concept that we cant call up mom and dad to fix our money problems. i havent even talked to my parents in 4yrs. i dont have anyone to help me. i have to make it all on my own. its hard at times but i make it. the things that have happened in my life have made me who i am today. i wouldnt change that for the world. |

I knew a dude like this. He was not a friend, just someone I saw a lot at clubs. He drove a Ferarri and was always talking about his ing car. At first it was annoying but then I just realized that while you are inside the club the car is parked at the valet and nobody can see his car. And since he didn't have the personality to interest a woman he would make sure they knew he had an expensive car, money, and a big house.
I dunno, I guess that works with cheap gold digging sluts maybe. Just the kind of woman you really want around. |

and you know what? you know how to be independent and that's so important. you most likely have more experience than a lot of those super rich kids. they might probably be screwed later on in life if they don't have their parents to give them money and they have absolutely no experience in the work force.
i admit, i have been a bit spoiled about not working (during school). BUT i do definitely work in the summer when there is no school...i MAKE SURE i look for a job because i refuse to sit on my ass why my single moher gives me money. i'd be a mess if i never worked a day in my life. i honestly hope i can be strong like you have been and manage having an independent life... |
