Fast Trance...

i think i'm finally at the point where faster trance music around the 140bpm range does nothing for me anymore. Anything that comes out at that speed sounds same ol same ol. where as trance that comes out between 130-135 gets some funkier basslines and still keeps the scene fairly fresh.
just my random observation for the day. |

| Try some stuff by Pedro Del Mar & DJ Shah, they have a radio show called Mellomania (you probably already know that). There is also a variety of trance sets here. If you have any other questions, just PM me. |

Guys like Aly and Fila are a good choice. They produce some peak time high energy epic stuff, but at the same time their radio show throws around a lot of different types of trance.
Markus Schulz is a great example (more live than just GDJB) of cross-genre music as well. His set at Boom Boom Room and at Twilo in Miami were fantastic. |

| Perhaps your club should be an aerobics class. |

EXACTLY!
Me and Baki were just saying that.
I thought the 'avg' norm beat for trance was like 138 or 140.
wasnt sure if i had it wrong or not though.
baki agreed, glad to see someone else does too :D |

lol, sadly thats true, becuase 125-135 is a very ideal bpm to work out to :toothless
countering the other comments...i think years ago 140 used to be quite the avg. where trance would commonly hover around 135-145, but its slowed down a lot since, and more often 140 seems to be a peak (with exceptions of course), and trance has slipped below the 135 mark too. Even 140 seems too fast now...i guess after being into the music for about 7-8 years, i've finally come to that point of not being excited by the fast paced stuff. It's more often than not, the same overdone melodies. |
