well, all beds slope off towards the sides. Why not make the edges of the bed a bit higher than the rest of the bed, instead? |
By bed do you mean mattress? Or are you talking about having a bed with the mattress sunk in? |

| Once the nesting phase is complete, you will be ready to contribute to the gene pool and bring your own little versions of virulent potential contributors into the world. We can only hope they like IKEA as much as the rest of humanity does or else we could see a global collapse in the production of cheaply manufactured, yet unaffordable and stylish aberations of design! That's not good for our shareholders, you know. |

Well by sleeping on the mattress over time it will start to sag in the middle (or wherever you sleep on). I'd imagine that if the sides were turned up then eventually the mattress would just fold in half. Plus like Greg said, you'd be trapped. |

if you can't escape from a mattress with slightly raised sides, then you don't deserve the convenience it provides. The folding part might be an issue, though...maybe have it raised in the middle, then scooped on the sides? This requires a diagram. |

...now I see why no one's made one. The sides would just rip off, and the part you could sleep on would just be even smaller. |
