Ferry @ Vanguard REVIEEEEEEW

I just got home, and not surprisingly, this was THE most packed event at Vanguard I've EVER seen. Everyone looked to be having a great time. Being able to access the VIP area upstairs was definitely a good bonus.

Boris started out the night very housy and then progressed to more trance - which I loved. Then Ferry comes on a little past midnight and the crowd just went WILD. He dropped some new tunes that I haven't heard of before, but at about 3am, he dropped a remix of Punk which got the whole crowd excited again. :eyespop:

The only downside of the night was that there were just TOO many people. It was hard to find a place to rest, let alone walk to the restroom w/ so many people in your way. But overall, I really enjoyed the night...and of course Ferry's set.

On our way home, we did see something unsettling. Two cars got into an accident, and one of the cars involved was a COP car. The cars were all turned in different directions w/ glass, etc. shattered everywhere. Can you imagine that?! Bummer...

Dammit!! My friends and I waited until 1:30, at that point, the line to buy the tickets and the line to get in were still very long and we decided to leave. I am so bummed that I missed this event. We were on the guest list, but I have been on call and I couldn't get there before 11pm. T_T

Ferry was pretty good last night. He played a little fluffier than I expected.... I prefer the harder stuff. We made it in around 11:00 so that was perfect timing pretty much to get drinks and get settled. Oooh, and we got to see the crazy San Diego pirate-light guy in action!

edit: oh yeah, nice to meet ya Andrieux and yer buddy too :toothless

yea, i've never seen vanguard that packed before.
i guess we should've expected it for ferry tho.

i've never had such a problem trying to dance before, between getting sandwiched between huge sweaty men or being shoved so ppl could get through, i didn't actually find too much time to just enjoy ferry's set.

I had an ok night. I was in line until about 1:55- so much for drinking. I got very visibly upset outside when I could hear Ferry spinning Galaxia. The music was great but it was way too crowded for me. There were too many people just being ridiculous not being able to contain themselves on whatever they were on. I really needed like 5 shots of jager.

I just moved here 2 weeks ago, so this was my first experience with Vanguard. I am sure it is not always that ridiculously crowded. I have heard much about that Pirate dude so it amused me to see him within my first 5 minutes there. I left around 330 because I had to be at work early. So please tell me that he did NOT spin any Dogzilla tracks...right?? I've seen a lot of vids on youtube of him doing so in recent sets.

What did he close with? Encore song? Oh yeah what remix was that of "A Life Elsewhere" good gawd...

My favorite part of the night- Ferry spinning Breakfast- Sunlight

Art of Trance - Madagascar (I believe it was the Ferry Corsten remix! ;) ) That was my favorite part of the whole night (though there were many others), the energy in the room was just phenomenal! Ferry played such an amazing set, and I heard that Michelle had a devil of a time too! ;)

I got there about 9:30 and waited in 2 diff. lines for the TA VIP tix plus the line for security, so guess that was close to 45 mins. or so. Many thanks to Patrick for hookin us TA's up with the guestlist, this was one of the best nights I can remember (parts of it at least!) Ferry played from around 12:30 to 4:10, so he rocked it for almost 4 hours! :D
