Best 3 channel Mixer (pg. 4)

This may seem like a dumb question at first :toothless , but is the Vestax 275 a good mixer for trance?

I was talking to a friend and she said that Vestax mixers were more for scratch b/c they had shorter x-faders, but she might have been talking about older Vestax models since she hasn't kept up with the scene in a while...

For those that have it: Is the x-fader on the 275 good for straight mixing?

I'm definitely thinking about picking one up, it's got the right features and doesn't break the bank on the price.

Thx,
Ugg

It is a great mixer for trance. they classify this as a European Style I think.. which is meant for this kind of music. It can be good for scratching too though. Vestax makes alot of other mixers specifically for scratching.

hmm..

i was pretty much completely decided on getting the Vestax PCV275.

but, then my buddy told me that the 270 had some problems for him. he said it felt like it was cheaply made.

he said they used to be made in japan, but are now made in china, and it shows.

he upgraded his to a Xone:32 and he says he is glad he did it, even though it was like 5 times as expensive.

although he says that, the short channel strips on the Xone:32 are annoyingly short.

now, i am undecided.

also, my other dj buddy told me he might sell me his DJ1000.

it's only 2 channels, but i might get a sweet deal on it.. i would say $500 canadian is a good deal, what do you guys think?

HollywoodDj.com Has the vestax pcv-275 for $370. I am not sure how great there service is though. Sixstardj.com has it for $420 and they say they will beat or match any advertised price and they also have free ground shipping and it also says you get a free pair of sony headphones, (not sure which ones). Good luck man.

bah.. sony shmony!

if i upgrade headphones, it will be to sennheiser 280Pros, nothing made by sony.

they piss me off with their marketing campaigns, insane copyright practices, and inflated prices.

and actually, hollywood will give it up for $349, if you email them for a price quote.

How bout the pmc-37Pro?
JohnSmith
yeah.. but i think that is probably a heck of a lot more expensive.

also, i don't like the way the EQs are sliders like that.

hey, maybe you ppl can help me too!!!!!!!!
I want to buy a mixer......
here's the details it MUST have:
* it must have at least 4 channels, 19" rack mountable.....
* EQ on each channel + gain. (of course!!!)
* cue in buttons for each channel (duh!)

optional stuff:
* crossfader (don't use it anyway)
* volume leds on each channel (recommended......)

so far, I found 2 mixers meeting those details......
the Stanton RM-100
and the Pioneer DJM-3000

what do you ppl think? anything else you can recommend me? oh! and give me the prices...... thanx in advance. :)
MERiDiAN5i2
Allen&Heath Xone:62... about $1200... but you'll never have to worry about having an insufficient mixer ;)

yes. it looks great....... but it's a little too pricey..... and it's not 19" and not rack mountable....... :(

anything else???
MERiDiAN5i2
there is a 19" rackmount kit for the Xone:62

i'd stay away from the stanton stuff... ive heard too many bad stories about thier mixers, and i used to own a RM3S... yuck is about the right thing to say.

maybe a vestax PMC-400 ?? Very much like the RM-100 but vestax kicks stanton all over the map.
