word. ang you start a thread asking for advice on a car, then when everyone says don't buy it, you make excuses as to why you should buy it.
why'd you even start the thread if you weren't gonna take the advice?

Hmm.. no, definitely not set on buying this car. I dont think Ive rejected anyone's advice, Ive actually done all their suggestions: Ive KBBed it, Carfaxed it, going to take it to a mechanic, etc. That was all great advice. However, Im not going to take advice such as "dont buy a Ford because its a Ford." |

I dont neeeeeeeed to get a Ford. This make and model fits my criteria though: I want something small, preferably a hatchback, fuel efficient, and most importantly fits into my budget. |

i personally overall am the same way, but i will be perfectly honest. ford has been for years. i have seen WAYYY too many times the engine ANS/OR the transmission go out on their autombiles. in fact a coworker JUST had his tranny or engine (i cant remember which) replaced in his ford. time and time again this happens and more often than not the people i hear this from own a ford. its not something people say for no reason. its just a matter of fact. |

cheapness in cars is just like cheapness in other fields.
it may 'fit into your budget' but you get what you pay for. just because this particular car may be cheap, packed with features, etc all the KBBing and carfaxing in the world isnt going to save your ass when you have to pay double the 6k getting the thing running again 4 mos after you buy it.

youd save ~4k, a good condition model will still run for a while, esp with a rebuilt(properly) engine. my dad has the 89, its loads better than a ford focus, has the original clutch, etc. there ARE options, and thousands of Fords have been built and died since this car came out. you dont have to follow my advice completely, but if everyone says fords are , you might want to believe them.
hell my family worked for ford for generations and they still wont buy them anymore| |
