to me, it did look like it might have been an accident. He shouldn't have had his gun drawn in the first place, but it doesn't look like he just aimed & shot. Also, the narrator claiming that this is even moreso the fault of the officer, since his tardiness put him there at that time, is irrelevant. That would require the validity of the assumption that tardiness results in murder. In any case, it's unfortunate and looks like it got out of hand and could've been avoided, but to instantly claim that the guy's guilty of murder and that there's a huge cover-up is a bit of a stretch. The fact that they concealed the video isn't surprising. Sounds more like somebody wants to get on a charge against the police and, while they've come close, they haven't gotten ahold of that gem of a case with which to do it. |
exactly.
and dont bother arguing with metalgear, he tends to miss the point with remarkable precision. |

um, actually, no, it isn't. |
It is still a crime, and imo you could argue in this case that it was murder. |

No I live in the Chicago area. And I know for a fact that nothing happened to the police man who shot him. |
i remember hearing about this. claims it was just an accident. which, actualy, does happen occasionally. |

well, if it's not an accident, you might. But accidentally killing someone is not murder. Murder requires intent. |

i think if its by accident it's technically called 'manslaughter' not murder.
like if you kill someone w/ your car, its vehicular manslaughter....but if you purposely killed someone w/ your car, it's murder [to some degree, based on premeditation].
or something like that.
_edit_
my knowledge really only goes as far as Law & Order :( |

you guys ever what would happen if, say, in the year 3000, robotcops are doing police work for humans, and a Robocop (in this same situation) (with 5000 years of Police Artificial Intelligence) did this.
Would people say the robot made a "mistake"?
Would people just accept it as the best course of action as determined by a 10million teraflop CPU?
Would the public ask for good old-fashioned humans to replace the AI-controlled robocops? |
