Ok im having a little confusion, sorry if its been covered before but i couldent find it.
Im using Mix Meister to calculate the BPM's (and a guess at the right Key's) for all my songs ive been learning to mix with. Last night i decided id try my hand at some DnB and so i burned a copy of my 'Pendulum - Hold Your Color' album and i was a little confused by the BPM's given. I remeber someone saying that DnB + Jungle had bpms around 180, and the values i got were around 87.0 (actually almost half the cd was 87.0 exactly). Now im guessing i need to just use the double button to get the right bpm then, of 174? My confusion is compounded by the fact that there are two songs that come up with a bpm of 132?? Which seems nowhere in the ballpark, unless its like 3/4 or something :toothless.
Additionally is there gonna be similar problems when i try the auto bpm with breakbeats?
I guess technically if theyre all off by a factor it wont really matter, but id rather look like a idiot on here asking then a idiot when someone comes over looks in my binder and says all my bpms are wrong :nervous:
Thanks in advance for your help :D |

Let me guess - the two tracks that came up as 132 were tracks 4 and 9? ;)
'Fasten Your Seatbelts' and 'Out Here' are breaks really, not drum n bass, so 132 bpm is a pretty appropriate tempo.
And yeah, all the rest of the tracks on the album are upwards of 160 bpm so double them if they're coming out at 80-something |
