The more I think about this party, the more I see the potential in it. Richie has always been probably the biggest techno draw for Toronto. Although he's not always on, when he is, it's absolute madness that hardly any other DJ can match up to. Any Richie party I've ever been to has been packed, but with a really good crowd.
As we've all noticed, techno has been seeping into the city's "sound" over the past 6 months or so. Since the summer is right around the corner, I think we are right on the cusp of a techno explosion. Take a look at all the techno bookings in the event thread for the upcoming summer months.
Toronto's favorite techno DJ playing at the beginning of what I believe will be the summer of techno?
I can see this being one of those parties that people really wish they went to... |

I hope it's like Lawler @ NYD in terms of how crowded the place is. Not as crowded early on, not super crowded later but maybe it's because we didn't notice it because we were there early. |

Techno is the next big thing....expect to see even more techno....and I would almost bet my life that we will see some of our local DJs moving from house to techno in the next 4-6 months. |

This is gonna be a summer of fun in TO if they keep these bookings coming.
and your last comment.. damnit, now you are making me think I should be going to this party. The drive to DEMF could be painful for me though... hmm. |

Yea because we need the locals to overplay and whore out another genre... I'd rather it stay in the somewhat underground scene. :rolleyes: |
