So, I wanted to first say that I'm ing seriously proud to know all of you and you are all some kick ass people.
This message pretty much stems from a lot of what I see going on around me and I just kind of wanted to point out something.
For the lot of us, we are the new generation of DJ's, promoters, producers and so forth. I can't remember in the last 5 years when I have seen so many of us local DJ's and artist's throwing event's and just generally doing what needs to be done. I'm seriously proud to say I know you guys.
Dave Molina, Benjamin D, Myself, Dirce and so many more are throwing event's and putting each other on their shows. That is ing awesome and It's good to see people helping people for ONCE.
We have a lot of talent that spans from Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Houston and beyond... and I am generally HAPPY to work with any of you.
I want to just do my part, no matter how little it is. I welcome ANYONE who wants to step up and come do a guest mix on THURSDAY NIGHT @ KARMA. Just let me know, and we can schedule you a date... you want to get your name out there or just have a good night... hit me up. I don't give a . The night is going REALLY well and I want any of you fine people to be a part of it.
You produce? I own a label. Your work is good? ING SEND IT OVER. Everyone is going to be their worst critic.. period. But you never know till you try. I've got a lot of big projects under way with BIG names.. and I'm more than happy to share remix duties with some of the people who I feel have the talent... just to help get your damn name out there.
To some this retarded post up, I just really want to help people get where they want to go.. and I will do whatever I can to help out. And I thank everyone else who feels the same way. Thanks for the chances, the chat's and the generally good times.

Badass man!!! I've always held to the notion that the playgrounds are way more fun when your friends are included.
No sense keeping all the good fortune to yourself, you know?
I think its pretty obvious that any TAs are welcome to my dinner table, provided you don't play Hawd5styl3 or other stuff that will scare Dolce's customers away. I'm trying to get this place off the ground and build a loyal crowd so the names will trickle in little by little. I'll do my best to include everyone.
If anyone wants to do a show OR happens to come across a bad ass deal on a DJ that can pull a crowd from SA's fickle-ass party scene...give me a buzz. Cory sent me a lead that I couldn't commit to last week, but I appreciated him looking out.

I have to agree. I've really noticed the change in the scene and on this forum over the last few years. I remember hanging out with the Houston, Austin and SA TA's a few years ago when I was in College Station. I had a blast with those people. I'm also glad that Dallas TA's are finally getting together and supporting each other. I've met some really stuck up DJ's here but none were TA's.
I know I will do my part and support all the Texas TA's by going to their shows and telling everyone I know about them.
Seriously, lets take control of the scene and keep it alive.
Andrew's right, we are the next generation! |

This thread is moving. Finally, something good to read in the TXTA forum jk
I agree with Andrew andlet me be the first to tell you that I have big respect to each and every one of you. Even though i might act like an sometimes, I'm always very receptive when it comes to reading how other people are, and I can therefore say that all TXTA are great individuals with different personalities and tastes.
'Jats OfF' to Dave and Andrew because it's the Small events that count, they build up over time and help artists build a reputation, it's also great opportunity and everyone should gather their records and play out.
To be honest, many of inspiration i get in music comes from the folks TXTA. This says alot about us doesn't it?

| nice words and good of you to give back! good to see the nightlife florishing in some areas!here its dead music wise and very hard to establish a foothold in an area where promoters are more concerned with a place where good looking people will show up and not trying to establish a music scene in any way.even the promoters(that i consider my friends) i work with feel that way even after ive tried to explain what they could achieve here.oh well, slowly but surely... congrats on your success in texas! |

I thought you were talking about SA for a second : )
Its like that everywhere I suppose, but the owner of Dolce partied at the same parties we did which sets him apart from the rest. He has a strict "No Hip-Hop" policy and built the venue for House music to be heard. Sure, he wants a return on his investment, but he wants to enjoy his venue as well.
Personally, I'm trying to become independent of the promoters around here. I like very few of them because most act like your friend one minute, then forget you exist the next. Having fun with my colleagues and getting inspiration to produce my own tracks is my goal now. Being a DJ only doesn't get you anywhere anymore. |

Thanks, especially considering the quality of DJ's you have up in your area. Jav-D, Tim Grube, Bryan Davis, just to name a few. |
