Ok Sean Blake, you win. I DID remember your name today, and consequently, proceeded to laugh. So, I had to post again. Keep trying Mr. Blake, keep trying. |
Hahahaha I lol'ed. Well thanks man. The whole intro thing is cause when you upload your beats to soundclick and you haven't copywritten anything yet you usually wanna "tag" it so that people won't steal it, and seeing as I'm paranoid and I was tired when I finished that song lol... ya.
A reply to everyone: You guys are totally right. I took a genre I knew basically nothing about except what I've heard in mainstream and then I made a song and tried to label it with that very same genre. People do this in Hip Hop and I look down on them and yet I expected different from another genre. 'Twas silly of me and I apologize.
One side note about the presets and the holding down 1 key: No gates or arpeggiators were used on any of the sounds you hear. Every note was either played on the keys or (for the faster rolls n stuff) programmed in FL.
Oh well, it could have been worse, I could have used Sytrus sounds *shudders*
And... no more supersaw... ok well not as lead anyways lol I'm still in love with that sound. :(
Apologetic,
Sean
PS I know like any Genre underground usually has some good people and some... not so good, is there anyone you would recommend I listen to? K thnx. :D
PPS I'll see if I can upload the midi for the strings :D I'd love to hear a remix. I've been told my drums aren't punching enough in that track anyways. Should be up in a day or two. |

That's all normal dude. It's all good :)
Depends what you like. I would suggest you listen to an episode of ASOT, TATW, Future Sound Of Egypt, Intuition, GDJB, Deep Blue Radio Show (google them up). Some people might suggest other things as it's all personal preference. They will give you a good start though. |

| My personal opinion... I thought at first it was the wrong song but then after reading other's responses, I realized it is indeed the actual song. I don't like it at all. Stick with your hip hop for sure. |

First of all, use trance percussions.
The kick is not upfront like it should be.
The melody can work if you are going to make ultra uber cheesy video game sound track lol.
Listen to my track to get some idea on what trance really is in my opinion: http://www.subtleinc.net/The%20Dark...ing%20Stars.mp3
Hip-hop is nothing comparing to this...

Hey wow thanks for the replies lol I've been busy from like 8 to midnight every day for this crazy provincial french Improv tourny haha was strait but ye I've been to busy to come online. Wow story of my life lol you all care haha moving on then lmao
I'm basically gonna ignore any comments regarding me sticking to Hip Hop, just cause I'm a stubborn guy and I'm gonna keep trying till I make something fresh :D
Ya, I got inspired cause during the Tourny we had a sick dance/rave minus drugs and the DJ was spinning this ill ass underground and just inspired me to keep goin. (DJ Cirque Sonique - he does circus stuff during his show too it's really sick).
As for everyone else, thanks so much for the feed, (except those who just stopped to insult me :P you guys are cool too lol I like to pick on noobs too so I can't blame ya) Here's what I got so far: Super Saw is soooo 1996, Use Trance percussion (I actually used an 808 kick though, is that still ok?), listen to more undergound stuff, less mainstream.
And I'm gonna check out those shows Fledz, huge thanks!
Also for those who addressed Hip Hop... I'll save my responses for another thread some other day :P |

| Hey, so whats up with the midi for that strings tune!? |
|
|
| SeanBlake |
Ooh yeah! Honestly, I dont even know how to work with actual midi format. Shall I just export the tune as a midi file and give you that? I'm really unsure :P But yeah.
PS since my post I have found and am listening to a bunch of different internet stations, I noticed in iTunes there's a huge aray, some better than others. Right now I'm vibing to hardstyle and I think I'm gonna try to get into that hard kind of trance/electronica (I'm still unclear on when to use which terms :P all my friends call it Techno hahaha) |

Et voila. Hopefully you can work with that. It's prolly a ing mess lol my FL files are so disorganized. The strings are Nexus.
Anyone is welcome to spin something new out of it. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/son...&songID=5283313 Here's the original if you wanna check it out. CAUTION: Drums are weak :( lol yeah. |
