JP8000 Factory Reset (?)

Hi all,
I've been an avid reader of this forum for over 3 years now and wondered if any of you fellow trancers could help?
I purchased a JP8000 last weekend and i'm not overly pleased with the patches the last user has made (drum and bass stylee) and it seems to be struggling also to communicate with my PC via MIDI.
A factory reset is my plan of action, however i've heard that this could be hazardous to the synths health and it may not work again!.
Is there any truth in this rumour, or can i go home safe in the knowledge that my unit won't spontaniously combust upon reset?
Thanks in advance. |

Yeh, it's in the manual and it seems a straight forward process. I just thought it'd be best to squash the rumour first.
It didn't make sense to me when i'd read it, but sometimes hardware is renowned for being temperamental so i thought i'd best double check.
I'll reset it as soon as i get home.
Thanks for that. |

| The only thing that would be hazardous to the synth would be attempting to flash it's firmware...and failing. |
