Have there been any great songs to have come out this year (in 2007)?

I haven't really heard that many & I am still listening to songs made in 05 and 06.

I feel like I have been living under a rock when it came to new trance music this year.

So if there are any great trance, house, progressive, or whatever edm songs that came out this year that you think I should hear let me know.

I need my EDM fix!

I've felt like this every day this year and it sucks :sadgreen:

Sometimes the dutch dance charts, although they are slow, can provide some insight as to what EDM songs are big in that side of the world right now. ( http://www.idp.nl/online/charts/ )

I'm also curious to know what ppl think are universally great EDM songs from this year so far :conf:

agree with Sean Tyas! great remixer! i listened to his mixes lately they're all great, high energetic, trance thumping sounds! but track list were pretty similar... great remixer indeed.

@neogaia:

This is kind of a vague topic. What do you consider a "hit"? A single based on chart performance and sales, or buzz around the clubs and communities? If you're talking about the former, then Dangerous Power can easily be called a hit in 2007 (even though it was produced, but unreleased in '06).

A little clarification to your question would be helpful. ;]

Giuseppe Ottaviani is on the rise. Great releases in 06.

Sorry for the vagueness, I didn't mean a "hit" by any means.

I just literally have not heard that much great new trance music this year and I would love to hear any good songs that you think are worth a listen that were released (& produced) this year.

[Songs that you could hear on ASOT or DJ Sets last year but didn't release for a really long time for example do not count.]

P.S. I just checked out Mark Eteson's myspace page the other day and I was shocked by how much good remixes and tracks he had and that I had never listened to his stuff before.

And I will take the Sean Tyas advice. I haven't listened to any of his stuff yet either.

check out astrix. he's an isreali pys trance artist from israel. His sound is a different kind of psy, it's more of a clubby sound, morning daylight trance, known as the FULL-ON genre. give this guy a chance... his trax has been played by John 00 fleming and Christopher Lawrence people just dont know bout him! he released two albums so far "eye to eye" and "artcore"... have a shot at him...

one of my favorite trax is: John 00 fleming vs Astrix - 3rd time lucky

something that might help is to browse www.beatport.com for a while, maybe 20min a week, and you can find some new tunes to buy. Very helpful, and they have most of the good releases anyway. That way you won't have to feel like you're living under a rock =)

Personally I hope to see Breakfast keep releasing stellar tunes. Props to him.

I go on Beaport about once a week but the charts don't change much/ the top [trance] songs aren't always amazing.
