HELP!!!! with Midi??

Ok....So I am going to be getting the DJM 800 and I am wondering about the Midi Controlers. I am wondering....am I able to connect my Laptop with the mixer and then use effects that are on the computer in my mixes using the mixer? Also can someone give me a litttle walkthrough on what Midi is? :)

| You don't need a DJM to do that, you could just use a standard MIDI controller. You only need the DJM if you intend to use the audio functions of it - any DJ software already has a mixer in it though. |
