Well, hip hop and pop ish remixes and tunes that sound similar to that

Madonna - Jump (Jacques lu Cont remix)
Armand van Helden ft Fat Joe BL - Touch Your Toes
Hatiras & DJ Dan - Baked from Scratch (Olav Basoski remix)
House of Pain - Jump Around (Micky Slim's Speed Shamrock remix) <-extremely fun tune, esp. at a club
Madonna - Hung Up (any remix)
Benni Benassi - Satisfaction (Steve Murano remix) <-good electro remix of the tune that we all love to hate....
Michael Grey - The Weekend (Eric Prydz & Steve Angello remix) <-wtf were they thinking!
Missy Elliot - Lose Control (Jacques lu Cont remix)
Justin Timberlake - Sexy Back (Dean Coleman remix)
Shakira - Hips don't Lie (Dean Coleman remix)
The cat Dolls - Don't Cha (Kaskade remix)
Max Graham vs Yes - Owner of a Lonely Heart

Don't ask me why I have these tunes... It's a terrible fascination. Kinda like watching a dominatrix at work. You know it's creepy, but you just can't stop watching :p

Some of them might be hard to track down.

If there are some particular ones that you really want to play, leave me a PM :)

thanks, emule has been pretty good so far for some quick finds!

i really appreciate the 'jump around' suggestion. i totally forgot about that track, and it'll go awesome tomorrow considering its a jump rope thing!

Since most remixes are house, kinda harder to incorporate trance remixes into a set.
Not to mention it's harder to notice the melodies of popular tunes on trance remixes vice house remixes

There was a remix that Lawler Deep Dish played awhile ago of a mash up of Madonna - Time Goes By and Orgy - Blue Monday. It was SO good - I have no idea what the remix was called though. Sorry.

The key to versatility is to know your audience. Sure playing your style is an expression of your musical talent and individuality, but when I used to do these random gigs, I got the best props, referrals, word of mouth and free advertising from the gigs I did where I learned about my audience and discovered what they like. Rather than seeking here, look up some myspaces for the age group you're targeting and other hip sites they are looking at. Pick out the energetic trax. To win them is to be them.
