If Kerry Won The Presidency.

What a disaster that would have been. Not because of himself as an individual, but because of the environment. A democratic president going toe-to-toe with a republican dominated congress. Of course, the war would still be going down the ter, but congress would be quick to blame Kerry. All the Kerry bashing would give the republicans a better shot in 2006, and they might have still had the majority. Come 2008, and a republican might have a shot to win, and we'd never leave iraq! :wtf:
So uh.. Agree? Disagree? |

The Dems dont have anything... They are still debating if they should save the penguins or the fishes up north :wtf:
I mean Kerry lost because of his obvious flip flopping. I mean the past elections should have been Edwards as Pres and Kerry as VP. I hope that this year the Democratic voters can chose their candidate more intelligently. Right now it dosent look too good for the Dems. Sure, they fit into the whole American rage about the war but thats it. All the Dems do is BITCH & BITCH and their only solution is withdrawal.
Come 2008 IMO that race is going to be dirty. I mean if you thought that Bush/Kerry race was ugly, you have not seen nothing yet lol. |

Wow, you seem to really be stuck in repeat mode. I'm wondering if you really have anything further to add to your commentary? |

I think I'd agree with your assessment, Marc, but discussing hypotheticals can get rather dizzying sometimes. I'm sure if you take it a step back further and wonder what Gore would have done in 2000, the environment (no pun intended) would look a lot different than what we see now with a King-like Unitary Executive making lofty predictions to which hardly none have come to fruition.
Kerry had a myriad of problems, and it's certainly true that he couldn't make up his mind on a number of things (stated by his own advisors working with him during the '04 race), but I can't help but think that the little word called "diplomacy" might have played a bigger role in our foreign policy at that time versus the middle-finger policy we have set forth by the fringe neocons running the Administration today. Our highest commanders (Petraeus) as well as the Iraqi Survey Group have stated that our current mess cannot be handled through military means alone, yet that is EXACTLY what is occurring with Bush's occupation. |
