Illustrator for text and typography. I laff at cheesy photoshop distortion effects on text.

there's a lot of crap on this site, but sift through and you'll find some good ideas and tutorials. |

Have you ever done a flyer before? Are you asking for design tips or ideas to have someone make a flyer for you? I used to do flyers for a living, and I still do some on the side.
The best tools for flyers are illustrator and photoshop. You can do some amazing stuff with them. If your flyer is for an EDM event, keep it simple, don't over crowd it. What do you have in mind? |

| dont use too many filters and too many effects on the font or the background image. keep it simple and neat. specify every detail necessary in text. and make text readable (text color etc...) |

Gosh, is this turning into a Graphic Design tutorial web site? Kidding... try out www.pixel2life.com web site for some great design and tutorial tips...
Keep it simple and to the point... nobody needs too much overwhelming graphics in the flyer... |

In the past I've noticed that most people I have dealt with that design flyers are flaky. Hard to find, take their sweet time etc.
How much do you think a semi decent club flyer should cost to design? |

| A decent 1/4 page flyer with no 3D usually runs abour $100 for the design. The more detailed the flyer, the more it will take, the more it will cost. A good designer will take about 4-5 hours per flyer. The client has a lot to do with the pricing too. If I know my client is picky, annoying, or just simply a pain in the ass, I will charge more. Printing prices are a whole different story. |
