Hallåå Swedish TA's!

I'm coming to Sweden soon for a weekend and i was hoping you could give me some info and tips :)
Me and my friends will stay for one weekend in Helsingborg (saturday 26 - monday 28 may), we will stay in the apartment Accome Tornet something like 15 minutes from the centre if im not mistaking. I was wondering if any of you can give us some tips about nice places to visit to have some fun. At night off course we want to have some good parties too. Can you recommend me any nice clubs or bars? (dont have to be good house music perse). Maybe another strange question: Are there a lot of stores/places/bars open that sunday since its Whitsun ('Annandag Pingst') that weekend? Cause we want to party a bit on sunday too if its possible. In Holland we are free the monday on 'Annandag Pingst', but i think i read something the Swedish government canceled this for you, or am i mistaking? :)

Tack!
benni
I live in malmö but i study in helsingborg so i have partyed in both places, and i must say its alot more fun in malmö... its not so far away either... about an hour with the train :)

and annandag pingst is not a free day anymore in sweden, they made the swedish national day (6 juni) a free day instead

Okay, thanx for the advice, but if we decide to stay in Helsingborg, what places do you recommend?
benni
the most popular in helsingborg is Tivoli, but its mostly rnb.. there is also a smaller one called Arom which is ok... they play a bit more house there...
Funfrock
Arom is closed becuse of a fire accident and i heard that tivoli soon cloosing its big dancefloor for renovation.

I'll give you an update soon what hot in helsingborg.. dont have time to write the post right now.

Too bad you're coming on the 26th, cause there's a huge party in Malmo on the 25th... but you'll find some nice place anyway, I'm sure ;)

Hehe, okay :) I saw the note about the fire accident too on the Arom website, the club looked pretty good on what i could see, too bad its closed now. And isn't Tivoli not more for the 'younger' people? Me and my friends are 22 amd we actually don't want to go to some kind of childish discotheque if you understand what i mean....

Looking forward to your tips Funfrock! :)

Hi again.. lets see about a quick overview of the clubs...

Tivoli (www.thetivoli.nu) - The club for rock/alternative if you are in to that. Age 18-30.

Tempel (www.tempel.dj) - My favourite club, playing house/rnb, age around 25. The big dancefloor reopening again 25/5.

Cardinal (?) - Mainstream place, i guess its one of the best places to find "easy" girls. Age varies. For some reason it was nominated to voting for best club in sweden 2006.

Fabriken (www.fabriken.be) - Sort of underground club, playing mostly minimal techno. Located a bit outside the centrum.
You need to buy membership ahead at tims haircut.

Harrys - Havnt been here in some time but i heard the rebuild the place and its actually pretty nice now with a big dancedfloor. Should aslo be one of the clubs to look for a one night..

There are a few other clubs but i wouldnt really recommend going to any of them. Shout if you wanna now more about any of the places.. like prices, music etc

And the bars.. there are a lot to choose from, depends on what you are looking for.

Good beer/drinks in a relaxed bar - Either Bishop Arms, Telegrafen or Dahlbergs (housemusic).

Crowed preparty bars - Zoo bar, Utposten, PL13 (rock/alternative). If its nice weather Hamnkrogen (outdoor pub) is usally crowed too.

You can aslo take the ferry to helsingör in denmark, takes 20 min, and either party on the boat or go to one of the pubs there.

Any questions?
TranceFool
Well I think that is enough info for now, thanks a lot :D

TranceFool
Maybe just another short question.
How is it with the prices of alcohol in a club and a bar, what do you on avarage pay for a normal beer? Cause i think its much higher than we are used to :)

Thanx!
Jeremy H
You usually pay about 25-50kr (~2.75-5.50€) for a 40cl beer in clubs in Sweden :)
