Now, now, read at GhB's post.
Yes, I liked Armin a lot but remember I come from DC and that was pretty much the only tihing we got there @ Glow. I stopped listening to Armin and paying attention to the sort because sadly trance is not what used to be, and found another genre that I like better at the moment.
Now, "minimal" techno to most people in NYC is not really minimal (ok, maybe some), but is more like a fusion of electro techno and house, and just slap the "minimal" label on top of that. I'm sure you would love what you would hear at some parties that maybe you haven't given a chance. I gave trance a listen for a good time but sometime last year, they lost me.
^^I am actually with you 100% and the idea that trance is not what it used to be. I haven't had that same feeling that trance gives me since I left the scene up north (except maybe TW with armin because that set was EXACTLY what trance USED to be.....took us on a journey to the past).
Despite the fact that I still listen to trance a lot, and will still go to certain events, I get so annoyed with over-crowded places like PACHA and dont feel the same about that sort of scene that I used to. The whole vibe is ruined by the crowd in these clubs. Plus I am beginning to enjoy harder beats, like tech-trance and harder-paced techno like Liebing and what not. Still getting used to the names and such lol . I dont know much about minimal AT ALL, except that (what I see people referring to) is a slower- paced beat that is just too boring for me. I still like it rough ;)
