I'm looking for just the BEST+CHEAP audio card for my laptop.
The Production Studio FAQ is just listing $9999999999 EMU cards for production with 9999 MIDI inputs and outputs, bla bla bla.
Seems the Creative Audigy2ZS PCMCIA and Audigy2MX external USB "box" is discontinued and that's the only one i've known about.
Anything around the $80 i can settle with? |

If youre not using it for producing, performance is irrelevant :conf: |

It should not at all.
Also, this is for windows, so if you are using MAC or Linux, i would suggest looking at something else. |

I have the Echo Audio Indigo DJ - good quality sound on 2 stereo outputs, 1 with volume control knob. Small enough that I leave it plugged in all the time. They also have an "Indigo io" version that has 1 input and 1 output. These cards plug into the PCMCIA cardbus slot which newer notebooks don't have - some have Expresscard instead.
More $$$ than you want to spend but probably you can get one for less on ebay. |
