So I've come across this curiously named label again, which seemed to escape my memory for I couldn't find anything on sale from it before, nor now. Linkzorsz: Dark Duck Records
Has anyone heard/purchased anything from it? To say this certain Stephen Philips is a prolific producer would be redundant, it seems. I've heard very little, some of which was rather bland, the smaller portion of which rather pleasant, mellow ambient. Some releases are available gratis on TZP Drone Company. |

I've played quite a few of the tracks from the Drone Download Project in my ambient sets for the last 2-3 years or so. If you bother to dig past the rather wallpaper-ish and boring releases, there are some gems to be found. Some favs:
Esa Ruoho - ll101002
S.E.T.I - Termination Shock
Terra Ambient - Wisp
Sundummy - The Great Machine Pulse Of Dormant Revulsion
Bolander - Thru The Tube Pt.1
Michael Sandler - The Opening |

Among his other stuff, I've been longing to hear this Manning release for some time now. The vinyl art is quite intriguing (which merits a depiction) and I hope the music is too.
If you have a TT, Sand Leaper, I'm obliged to recommend this release, which I think you may find quite interesting: - 0, one of my favorite items in my collection, and the epitome of that other 'illbient' sound, or 'chaotic' dark ambient, or whatever the hell one wants to call it. |

| dcn's cyber sleep 5 is very good. both tracks are rather minimal and somewhat simplistic, but i find them incredibly effective in inducing a sense of serenity and calmness with a touch of melancholy. the second one is also a bit darker. |

Ah yeah, Suspended Angel is lovely. I remember hearing that on SomaFM the other day. |
