World Party / Wet Grooves Are Thieves

I have to say that anyone who supports the World Party, Wet Grooves, or any of their affiliations are contributing to thieves. Over WMC 2007, they paid almost none of the talent at the 5 or more events they produced in Miami. Those of you who paid their overpriced tickets were contributing to their pocketbooks and most of the amazing talent never got paid. This is being taken to court and I wanted to make everyone aware of this. They also do events in Dallas and also trying to do them in San Francisco. If you love the music, please support legit promoters who pay their talent and don't make excuses.
BOTTOM LINE IS THEY DO OK PARTIES, BUT THE TALENT ARE NEVER PAID. SAD PEOPLE WHO ARE DESTROYING THE SCENE. THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE THE BALLS TO CONTACT BACK AND MAKE EXCUSES. OK, I AM DONE WITH MY TANGENT.

| are you talking about the fire events held regularly at the lizard lounge in dallas? ive always wondered how that ty as club brings in so many headliners and only charges $10-15 for admission....this would explain a ton if this is what ur talking about. |

Yeah that includes those events. I am sure Lizard Lounge makes sure the talent gets paid there, but the promoter is shady and has done a lot of wrong to a lot of people in the industry. Mind boggling how people can support an idiot like Steve. |

1. Quoting for Steve, before you decide to erase your words from realizing you've just committed libel if you have no proof. Being that you are hiding behind a username while making these statements and knowing Steve the way I do, I'm going to bet you don't.

2. No need to trash the Lounge, it has treated Dallas very well and the promoters that they work with. Learn & understand how the business works before you trash good people. |

I stopped going to FIRE events, at the Lizard Lounge, a year ago.

Pinning that on Steve is unfair though.
Steve has a lot on his plate and probably funnels much of the managing through local channels.
Blame the local promotions team for attracting that crowd and not paying talent.
That would be like me blaming Donnie for all the shortcomings in SA and Austin crowds. Donnie can't control that...he just sends talent where it can be used. |

You are right, there is no need to trash talk the Lizard Lounge. I don't have anything negative to say about them, but only the thief of a promoter that does Fire events there. The best promoter in Dallas is Jeremy Word. He is honest and a great guy who also does events at Lizard Lounge. |
