how is the bass on them? i wasnt able to hear the rp8's when i headed down to guitar center to pick up some stuff...but im lost on whether to pick the v6's or the rp8s. im more wondering about the bass response from the rp8s. is it noticeable? i know there arent any low freqency adjustments, only high i believe. i know i wont get crazy bass from studio monitors, but i want some monitors with some bass since dnb is very bass heavy. :nervous:

i would like to buy the rp8s just because it'd be saving around $80 on the pair. but if the bass isnt really there...no real point...better to go with the v6. i know krk isnt the greatest...but when i can get the rp8's for around $130 and the v6 for $170...i really can't complain. :)

If you're using them for DJing, just get Behringers man. You will probably blow them up at some stage so theres not much point in sinking alot of cash into them unless you are using them for producing as well. Behringers have an 8" driver and give enough bass for a typical sized room.

I bought the M-Audio BX5a's for their sound imaging to help me improve my mixes, at home.

But if you are going to use them for parties at your house you may want to look into something else.

rp8's = clarity
v6's = definition

either way, they are great monitors. I had my v6's for about 5 month and I love em.

also, basswise, you'll need a sub. rp10's are fairly cheap and i think it would go great with them.

You will not need a sub with RP8's. I've played numerous house parties with them and the bass was sufficient.

rp8s will ing punch a hole in the wall and call you a sissy

i contemplated the sub...but i honestly think its a bit too much. i really dont need a 10. if anything, my mixer has a subwoofer out, so if i am really fiending for bass...i can always get a cheap $100 8inch sub, and hook it up that way.

hm...i'll probably end up getting the rp8s. save me some cash while having good sound. thanks for the input guys

I live in an apt and have the RP5's, don't know what kind of space you are in but I think just fine for that environment for people on apt's.

well, like punjabi said.. it's good enough for house parties. I've done a few house parties with just rp8's also.. Subs would be a plus tho.

Are you guys pulling his leg? Take my advice and go overboard on your PA... you can always turn it down.

PA's won't sound good in small space.

he wants monitors, not a PA.
