One reason why he's still a sellout is because many people dont even know about other 'trance' djs, all they know is Tiesto 'when love comes again'....,etc, thats all they know. fullllllly shick bro.
+ he also plays for the commerical mass nowadays, and many people are well sheeeeeeeep baaaabaaaaaaa.
But then again maybe many people still respect & like his style! Each to their own.
But still if he came Id probably go see him, like Stipsy said he was the man many years ago & one of the biggest names in trance, although would not go see him if he played at muzzadayze. No way.
hahaha Onion you're cruising for a bruising.
:tongue2  :tongue2 |

i love fridays.
um, i love it how people generally always like to think they have this "non commercial" or "individual" taste in music. what the is the definition of sell-out anyway? people complain about nobody innovating and then bitch when people do something different to what they used to.
some here like some of the most commercial, intellectually insulting crap ty ed television, and then have the audacicity to criticise artists = heehee for me! |

yeah, i agree dude: what he did in the old days is in the past: what we see now is just his progression: we all change in time; why should the people we admire be any different: they're artists, not immortals... I think it's fair enough tiesto plays different stuff these days, even tho i think he sucks now: it's his choice, and he shouldn't be bagged for it: after all, if tiesto stayed no. 1, there'd be no room for the new-comers... :p |

yup. if Tiesto kept playing what he used to he could be just doing it to keep the old fans (and maybe the majority) happy. if he's not playing what he wants to play, they yeah maybe he's slightly selling out on himself. as long as he's playin what HE wants to play, and not what people expect/want him to play, that what matters.
and having said that, i don't see anything wrong with playing what will sell tickets either, and playing what he wants in his own time. i don't think there's anything wrong with dj'ing for money if you want to do it for a job. it keeps a stack of people happy and sticks money in ya pocket. when they go away, u play what u wanna hear dammit!
it's like Eric Prydz making 'call on me' etc for the masses, making a killing (that tune would have increased his stash a tad don't u say?), then Pryda bangin out what Pryda wants to bang out for himself. compare that tune with Aftermath and his essential mix... u just can't! (although proper education fit nicely into that deep arse prog set and sold like hotcakes too) |

| it's true tiesto thinks he's top : but he's a in celebrity these days: when everyone tells you you're the best, you start to believe it... and if you're the best, then you're always right... and if you're always right, then everyone else: hahaha :D |

complete toolage. ooooh look at all the glitter.
He is nodding his head, and clapping his hands. So talented.
and he gets praised for it! |
pffft as if you would not go off if that was you up there, so what if he is clapping his hands. the crowd is loving it and that is all that matters. stop worrying about the dj all that matters is that the crowd is having a good time.
granted the chinstroker in me cringes at the mixing;) |
