Bal En Blanc 2007 -- Assessment / Bilan (pg. 5)

I think these guys got screwed at Resolution because Tiesto was three hours late and many that would've left stayed. Does that seem plausible? The only way I could see BeB/GK convincing Gillett to sell more tix would be to base it on the turnover patterns which do happen at massives. But I can see how that didn't happen.. coupled with probable greed :p

And yes, there was a warning.. I know that for a fact, heard it from the horse's mouth and I saw it firsthand on the dancefloor at Resolution. As for BeB.. well, you draw your own conclusions.

I also have issue with the people showing up later being called idiots or 'etards'. Some of these ppl have family stuff, work, other parties, etc. And I bet some of those etards gladly posed for a certain website even :p .Okay, no more rants.. I'm going back into my little hole and watch the Sens eat Buffalo Wings for dinner ;)

I am not going further into this because some of these people I know and I told them that they were running after trouble by buying their ticket that same night and showing up at 5.

anyways.

lesson learned: first come, first served.

difference between a clubber and an edm'er is that edm'ers love to dance.. they're all about dancing. It's everything. When you understand that concept, you'll understand my grudge.

why don't you go after tiesto? I think that subject was discussed ad nauseam and there's no point going further into it.

thats quite random as a reply. what does it have to do with this tickets and bal en blanc??
Spin Laden
wow.

everything, man. I'm not only ranting for the peeps who didn't get tickets or who had to wait forever to get in.

As for Tiesto, it wasn't his fault he was late. I agreed with you in the Resolution thread about that.

an edm lover doesn't show up at 5am, he shows up asap to check out all the talent.

to me, those coming late are more posers in my book (or got a freebie to get in so they just took their time).

this is getting philosophical. heheheh

well there is a lot that work in bars and since it was a long weekend, there isnt much to do for that...

yeah, lol. At least we're not DEBATING IN UPPER CAPS LIKE SOME OTHER PEOPLE :p ;)

It depends on the size of the group too.. case in point, I was with 15 people, three different hotels, etc. I wanted to go early to catch Grondin and SVD but couldn't because of the group. We got there at 1AM after an hour's wait. And we were lucky because a security guy let us thru the first rope since we knew him.

Now Monika in her post showed up at 330am, prolly because of work? She paid $100, she should have gotten in earlier instead of 6AM. Plus, she's hot :p ;)

Point is, you should see it from our side too. Just like estimating turnover and such, there are so many variables as to why ppl show up later for massives. In any case somebody screwed up and I'm surprised you of all ppl are pointing the finger at the latecomer patron. I don't think we'll know all the answers, man.

EDIT: overselling tix also kills the dancefloor vibe as well (re 'random' reply).. well, unless you're from Toronto :p

wow now this is interesting
yes I did show up at 3:30...and NEVER did it even cross my mind that I wouldnt get in because of capacity! I wanted to show up at the peak of the party...and never have I had such a problem..

I always show up at these parties after 3am mostly because the DJ's I want to see play after that time and because I like staying till the end...the parties are usually less crowded by then and there arent so many amateurs

au contraire, I think its the real music lovers that stay stay late...teh people that show up at 11 (feel free to argue with me here) are there at 11 because it's "Bal en Blanc" and it's a hot event...not because they are eager to see some opening DJ...

Point is...I did feel liek a HUGE idiot standing in line for 3 hours with some REALLY "antipathique" and arrogant woman that kept on reassuring us we would get in "dans 10 minutes!! je vous promets TOUT LE MONDE rentre"....someone needs to bring that girl back down to earth

point is we were treated like a bunch of cattle

and at the end I didnt have to show my ticket, didnt get searched...nothign....it was all super sketch...neways I had a great time and i'm not complaining...but I dont appreciated being called some e-tard

;)

it takes me 45 min...correction;)

but NONE of the DJ's that were playing before I got there interested me...and I wanted to hear all of DD...whats so wrong with that? I dont want ot show up at 12 to some empty house room

same thing for teh ppl I was going with

I always go to these parties with teh same people and we show up late...and we love it that way

and this incident isnt going to change our habit because I do believe it is majorly the organizers fault
