That's sucks , having known a few people recently who lost someone close I can imagine how he is right now.
My condolences to his family.

Some people in here really need to relax and .
How many times have you seen people give condolences to someone they don't know? Many - Freenode Lilo dying for example.
How many times in a conversation have you heard something like "oh yeah so and so's mother/father/ect passed away the other day and you reply by "sorry for their loss?" Probably once.
This is no diffrent here. Have a little respect and heart for Ferry because he is probably going through a tough time. And if you really want to rant on how it's insignificant and , you sir, have a cold heart.
