Came all the way from Virginia to see Sean spin again. The drama I went through to get to Studio... The Chinatown bus broke down on me, so I had to ride the train at the last moment. Anyhow, Sean!!! Thank you for making trance masculine!!! Nice meeting you again, uncle Ed & Jay. It was awesome seeing you guys again. Heather, Happy belated birthday!!! I didn't know until I read the postings. Now, I think I'll head out to Sullivan room later tonigt to make my NY trip complete! PLUR!!!
PS. Sean! Have an awesome time at Ageha! It used to be the biggest club in Asia before Zouk came along, and be sure to check out the club Womb when you are there! |

i am so angry.... i got too drunk, don't remember what happened, and woke up at 9 a.m. in my bed. according to my friend i left at 1:30... :( |
YEAHH!!! Drew n I were wondering why you left so earlyyyy :( was it ONLY 1:30am?! whoa
anyways...
interesting setup in the Reed Room, good job in clearing out the seating area - it actually had more of a feel of a smaller venue as opposed to a megaclub -- only complaint was that it got way too hot. so we ended up walking back and forth between rooms (it was much more ventilated in the main room where Sun Project was playing).
Dogzilla/Simon Patterson was good, Sean Tyas seriously kicked ass (I finally KNOW what he looks like!!! LOLOLOLOL  ) I probably danced the most during his set. I did not see who opened the night - at some points I thought the tracks they chose were more appropriate for the main act but that is just my opinion.
Drew and I were sober the whole night and in truth, nothing really stuck out to me. all the djs sounded almost the same and I was looking for more variety in terms of bpm and sound but maybe that was what was considered great about the night as well for most. Hearing "Without You" was certainly awesome, but then again that song was way overplayed during its prime and i was just like, "oh great song." (did he throw down "Your Eyes"? now THAT i would have gone CRAAAZY over..) maybe I am just not into trance as much anymore or else im becoming MORE **discerning** about the state of it nowadays (not a bad thing either).
it was a FUNNN night all the same. and KayKay i am SOO glad you got to enjoy the night :D Great seeing you out!!! :toothless
some (mostly funny) pics of the night:

STUDIOOOO - probably one of the FEWWW times we will ever go there (esp with the prob with the guestlist...so glad we bought tixx!!!)

the one and only Sean Tyas I presume...

Simon Patterson - damns he's fineeee

Drew with a Tyas (Ryannn) :tongue2
below, enjoying the moment

| Alright I think I'm recovered enough to post a little review. I must first say - BIG UPS TO MIKE! You have put so much effort to create such an amazing vibe party after party. You hit the nail dead on with Simon Paterson.....wow that guy ing destroyed it! Tommy boy put down a great opening set....I say him once before in Philly but didn't know who he was....but last night I actually payed attention to his set and he really impressed me. Sean is Sean....he never disappoints EVER! It was great hearing Thunderstruck again in a club was MASSIVE.....place went nuts. I'm not much of a trainspotter anymore but last night was filled with fresh beats.....I love it when I can't ID most of the tracks played. I'm so glad I decided to come because I couldn't imagine missing this party.....and much thanks for Mike for making that happen....thanks a lot buddy, I owe you! It's great to be back in NY finally (although I will say, I miss sunny Florida ing about going fishing with Steven everyday lol) Last night was a perfect welcome back party for myself.....there were so many TAs there ! I'm kinda glad it ended early because from the time I took my first shot at Brite Bar till the double rum/coke my friend Sasha gave me because it was too strong for her, I GOT ING WASTED! I haven't drank that much liquor in a long time lol.....deff paying for it today though.:clown: |
