i en hate my grandma, who despite enduring many infermities, still manages to cling to life.

The first death in the family that actually hit me fairly hard was my great grandmother. I don't feel like going into the details, suffice it to say she was one of the coolest, most badass people ever. My condolences to you and your family.

My advice to you is not to dwell on the fact that you didn't get to see or talk to her for the last year or so. If you had a good relationship with her before then then she more than likely still cared for you, supported you and loved you. Don't dwell over the negative thought of not speaking to her, try to remember the good times you'd spent together. If she was anything like my great grandmother (who would've laughed along with my dad, brother and I at the priest kissing the Bible during her funeral), that's probably what she would've wanted.

I had a similar experience in the sense I had an in camp training.

When the officer in charge told me the news, i literally broke down and cried my eyes out. My grandma was the one person who would be there for me if there was no one else..

I had just learnt CPR the week before and i just kept thinking what I could have done when she had that heart attack. I know i shouldnt be pissed at myself but couldnt help myself thinking I could have done something.

I'm very sorry to hear about your grandma. I went through my great-grandma's death not to long ago and it was the toughest thing I've ever had to go through. I was really close with her since she lived with my mom's parents and when I was a kid I practically lived there, spending my summer vacations there and sleeping over on weekends.

I know you feel miserable and angry and cry a lot. My friend, cry your heart out and allow all those feelings you have to come out. It's the best advice I can give you. Soon you'll get over it and life will go on. You'll probably miss her like hell just like I miss my great-grandma, who was the coolest, most amazing person ever, but soon all those feelings will turn to happiness every time you remember all those great moments you had together. Her body may not be here anymore, but her spirit will live forever inside you and it will only make you stronger.

Sorry to hear it...Take care of your mom when you see her. It's going to be even harder on her...especially considering today is mothers day.

My Nan died on Good Friday, it didn't hit me until i played Tears in Heaven on my guitar a few days afterwards...i just stopped about 5 strings in and couldn't do anymore.

She was my last grandparent

I'm sorry to hear about it gwrmarines...im not overly religous but i think that wherever my nan is now...her mother, father and other relatives are with her...and that gives me peace.
