| umm..you spelt fat wrong. Anyway...a dub of what? There is no genre called dub, dub is just the B side of the song. |

dub is a spin off from reggae and is superb. phat refers to the quality of the very low frequency bass that causes your lungs to blow air past your lips. it is also described as having minimalistic techno elements. is this right or am i on some other planet. either way it is super. an example well i dont really have one. i just hear these beats at nights which have (dub) on the promo. many albums have a dub remix or two.
i didn;t reawlize this was an australian thing (or maybe its just a me thing!?!).

Wrong. Dub IS a genre. But I'm sure he is not refering to the genre dub, merely dub mixes of house/techno tunes.
Dub mixes are generally a stripped down version of the original song. Maybe vocals have been removed, melodies or other parts of the tune (elements can also be added ofcourse).
Coma Pirates - Dragonfly (Main Mix)
Coma Pirates - Dragonfly (Dub Mix)
or
Little Green Men - Need (Satoshi Tomiie Main Path Mix)
Little Green Men - Need (Satoshi Tomiie Flip Path Mix)
Those are good examples to show the differences.
As for getting them, they should be available where ever you normally get your tunes.... |

Ill say it once, Ill say it again:
Sublime - Brad Nowell (Lead Singer for those of you who dont know Sublime) = Long Beach Dub Allstars.

A dub is a song with the lyrics ripped.
