| Just came back from a visit to my local record store. And bought the new Luke Slater album. It's absolutely fantastic. Can someone give my a little info on Luke Slater? I know he normally plays Techno but his new album is more melodic and electro! |

Luke came to Novamute when he called up Richie Hawtin and told him: "this Plastikman album is crap, man!" and gave him some tapes.:stongue:
Since then he has released a bunch of 12",including his two masterpieces "Body Freefall,Electronic Inform" and"All Exhale".They've been remixed later by the likes of Futureshock,Jon Carter and Junior Cartier. He later released his first album "Wireless" on Novamute.
His style is quite changed on his new album, though. It's more of a pop-album really!A neo-pop album. He has changed from Novamute till Mute, probably because he wanted to make a more electronica-related album(which is what Mute releases the most of) and not his usual techno-style(which Novamute takes care of with releases from i.e. Speedy J)
If you want the bangin' techno-Luke,you'd be better off with picking up the Planetary Assault Systems album "Atomic Funkster",on Peacefrog.Too bad that he won't make more PAS-records,though.He said this in an interview I read lately:
| quote: | | Peacefrog wanted me to make Planetary Assault Systems more commercial and watered-out.But I will not do that, and therefore there will be no more Planetary Assault Systems in the future. |
That's a shame.:sadgreen:Hopefully he'll find a label that he can continue the project on.Be sure to catch him live, which is a pure display of techno-power.And he'll be at a festival in my hometown in the beginning of July! All norwegian-techno headz, get your ass down to Kristiansand!(But PM me first,so I can meet you:D) |

| Allright on top is indeed a wonderful album. I heard him at loveparde last summer, and at that point he was playing techno. |
