I know this track has been remixed to death already, and it's tough to do justice to the original.
Still, I think it turned out pretty good.
I'd appreciate some feedback on the mix, thanks.

Thanks. Getting it released wouldn't really work for obvious reasons. :) |

This is fantastic man. I'm using it in a set :D
Send it over to A&B. You never know, you might get a play on TATW. Send it to Armin while you're at it too ;)
btw, it's just Oceanlab - Satellite. Justine is a part of Oceanlab otherwise it would be Above & Beyond feat Justine Suissa :p
EDIT - I also would make the kick a little bit more punchy :) |

Technically an excellent job.
I'm not sure if I agree with Fledz on the kick, I think given the style of track the kick is punchy enough, but different strokes for different folks. ;)
Over all, it sounds nice but doesn't excite me enough to want to play it out.
I do feel that with your skill you could have made this a bit more special. Owned it a little more and perhaps even gone away from that oh so bland Anjuna sound.
Cheers

Could easily have been the original, very professional sound.. Mixing is one of the hardest parts in Reason, but you seem to have that perfectly under control. Good stuff |

I see what you mean. It isn't my usual style, but I thought it would work well for this particular track.

Actually, the mixing for this track was done in Cubase.
I only used Reason for drums and pads this time.
The rest is the Virus TI and Synth1 VSTi. |

I've been playing this all day along with DJ Eco - Paradise Now (Onova Remix). Both are superb, especially this one.
I don't think the theme of this would of sat in with some of your harder stuff that you've produced before, so i think the sounds you've went for fit this well, even if they do sound a little anjuna-ish.
Let me know when you release some stuff and I'll be the first in line to buy.
Well Done :) |

Hmm.. Interesting stuff indeed!
I will say, the sounds are quite vintage A&Bish.. Impressive! Feels a little empty in spots but this is still a clever interpretation of a classic.. In my opinion, a gigantic, earth-shattering riff would really complete this rework.
Agreed on the kick though - Sounds alright given the genre in question.
Well done and keep up the fantastic work!

Good mix, after listening to it a few times, here are my thoughts:
The Kick fill at the beginning is a bit quiet. Then again, do you need it at all? It isn't really a crucial moment in the song. Perhaps you could save it for later.
Ive never been a fan of the "fade in hihats" technique, but if you like it, don't let me tell you otherwise.
I really like the buildup at 4:14... but perhaps it could be even bigger.
Overall a nice track. |

Ahh... this is just what the doctor ordered.
I love experienced Reason users. They have so much going for their production with that tool.
I love your full sound with trance in every one of your tracks. This is no exception.
GOod ear candy, man. Ace mixing, synthmanship, and no-nonesense-epic trance sounds.
The only thing this track needs is a big riff when the vocals are absent. 9.5/10!! |
